Apron / Ramp Lighting Installation — Owen Roberts International Airport (GCM)

Caribe Service & Equipment Inc. supplied and installed apron (ramp) lighting at Owen Roberts International Airport (GCM) in the Cayman Islands, delivering bright, uniform illumination for safe aircraft parking, servicing, and ground-handling operations after dark.

The challenge. The aircraft parking apron is where refueling, baggage loading, pushback, and ground-crew movement all happen at once, often at night. Owen Roberts needed even, glare-controlled lighting across the ramp that met aviation standards, without dark spots that create safety risks for crews and equipment on a busy apron.

What Caribe Service delivered. Caribe Service supplied and installed high-mast apron floodlighting engineered for the ramp area, including the light structures, fixtures, and aiming to deliver uniform coverage across the apron. The scope covered supply, installation, and commissioning, with the lighting positioned and angled to minimize glare for pilots and ground crews while meeting the required illumination levels.

The outcome. Owen Roberts International Airport now operates its apron under consistent, high-quality lighting that improves safety and efficiency for nighttime ground operations. The upgrade supports faster, safer aircraft turnarounds and better working conditions for ground-handling teams.
